THIS is the moment a car smashed into the wall of a house after two people were killed when a driver ploughed into a crowd.

Cops and emergency services rushed to the scene after a 44-year-old pedestrian and a cyclist died.

The horror unfolded yesterday morning in Coventry when two pedestrians were hit in Gosford Street near the city centre.

Tragically, one was killed while the second was treated for serious injuries.

The car then ploughed into a cyclist a 10-minute drive away on Woodway Lane.

The cyclist couldn't be saved and died from their injuries shortly after.

Police confirmed the car then smashed into the brick wall of a house in Beckbury Road.

A picture shows the vehicle's front tyre has come off the wheel arch, while the steaming bonnet has crumpled.

Cops from the drones team and dog unit were summoned to search for the suspect after a man made off when the car drove into the house.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at around 9am following the crash.

Officers are continuing to quiz him in connection with the collisions.

Several roads including Gosford Street have been sealed off as cops investigate.

Police have appealed for witnesses and are looking at CCTV footage.

Superintendent Ronan Tyrer said: "We have now informed the families of all those involved in today's tragic incidents and our thoughts remain firmly with them at this truly devastating time.

"We are still in the very early stages of our investigations and we have several scenes across Coventry which also means that some roads will be closed for a considerable time."
