MICHELLE Keegan has said it was embarrassing that she kept being voted sexiest woman during her time on Coronation Street.
The 36-year-old insisted she is ‘not sexy’ and said she was frustrated that her hard hitting storylines weren’t recognised.
Michelle, who first appeared on our screens as Tina McIntyre in Corrie in 2008, won 12 soap gongs for being ‘sexiest female’ and was voted FHM's sexiest woman in the world in 2015.
Asked about all her ‘sexiest female’ awards, she said: “It was embarrassing. Because I was in a lot of heavy storylines.
“There was one where I felt like I was crying every day for months and months. And then at the end of it, when the accolade was sexiest female, it was so frustrating."
Speaking to The Observer magazine, she said: “And the funny thing is, I'm not sexy!

Michelle, who is married to Towie star Mark Wright, also admitted she didn’t enjoy doing sexy shoots.
Asked about the shoots, she said: “Yes, I felt pressure and I am a bit of a people pleaser, I try to go with the flow.

“But there was something in me that was like, ‘I really don’t want this. I don’t want to be on the front cover in my underwear.’ So, eventually, I gathered the courage… to ask for a cardigan.”
