Who is Ruth Langsford? What happened to her sister?
Ruth Langsford was born in Singapore on March 17, 1960, and is a presenter best known for her roles on Loose Women and This Morning.
The star was raised across several different countries in her first ten years of life before eventually settling in the UK.
She made her presenting debut in 1997 on The Really Useful Show, and since then she has mainly worked with ITV.
The exceptions to this include How the Other Half Lives for Channel 5 which she presented with her husband Eamonn Holmes and her own QVC segment titled Ruth Langsford's Fashion Edit.
The pair presented ITV's special broadcast of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding on Friday, October 12, 2018.
On June 20, 2019, Ruth announced that her elder sister, Julia, had suddenly passed away.
Julia, 62, was found dead at her home on Monday, June 17, 2019, with Ruth cancelling her TV appearances until further notice following her death.
Paying tribute to her sibling on Instagram, the presenter wrote: "My lovely sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness. My heart is completely broken.
"She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever."
Concluding, she added: "As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding."
When did Ruth Langsford marry Eamonn Holmes?
Ruth and Eamonn became engaged in 2009 and they married in June 2010.
They met in 1997 after they were introduced through a mutual friend, TV presenter Sally Meen.
The couple has one son, Jack, born in February 2002.
Eamonn has three other children from his first marriage to Gabrielle Holmes - daughter Rebecca, 26, and sons Declan, 28, and Niall, 24.
