HER brand has been dubbed the "Queen’s bra-fitter" for years.

But who is June Kenton and why has Rigby & Peller lost its royal title? Here's the lowdown.

Who is Rigby & Peller boss June Kenton?

June Kenton, 82, bought British luxury lingerie brand and retailer Rigby & Peller with her husband for £20,000 in 1982.

Together, they transformed the company into a leading retailer and were assisted in the management of the company by their children.

In 2011, they sold and 87 per cent stake in the company for £8million to Van de Velde - a Belgian brassiere manufacturer.

She even stayed on the firm's board to fit the Queen's bras after Belgian company Van de Velde took on the company, which was awarded the royal warrant under its previous owners in 1960.

Why has Rigby & Peller lost its royal title and what did Storm in a D-Cup reveal?

June was reportedly stripped of her title after penning a tell-all book about palace lingerie.

June, whose company held the royal warrant for 57 years, penned intimate details about measuring the half-dressed monarch in front of her corgis.

Storm in a D-Cup reveals details about June's working relationship with other royals including Princess Diana, Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother.

Mrs Kenton, who described herself as "the UK's leading boobologist", said in an interview to promote her work that  “even the grandest ladies need to be well-supported”.

She also told how the Queen Mother once said that she "pretends to listen" to Princess Margaret's choice of hats when her milliner came for fittings but that "once she has gone, I order what I want."

Mrs Kenton wrote about Princess Diana's bra fittings, adding that she would accept posters of lingerie and swimwear models for sons William and Harry to put up at their Eton digs.

Russell Tanguay, director of warrants at the Royal Warrant Holders Association, confirmed to the Express that Rigby & Peller, whose flagship store is near Harrods in Knightsbridge, had lost its warrant "in the middle of last year".

He explained that firms have a time limit before they have to remove the royal coat of arms from promotional material and shop signs.

Buckingham Palace said: “In respect of royal warrants, we never comment.”
