A push present is the name for a gift given to a woman by her partner, spouse or father of the baby, to congratulate her for giving birth.
Even though some women may have a c-section, a "push" present literally refers to the act of giving birth.
The present is intended to be a thank you and compensation for all the months of hard work that goes into a pregnancy.

And after Princess Charlotte was born, the second-in-line to the throne is said to have given Kate a pair of earrings worth around £3,000.
The earrings are said to have been designed by Kate’s favourite jeweller, Kiki McDonough, and featured green tourmaline, green amethyst, and diamonds.

Push presents are typically expensive pieces of jewellery, but there’s no official rule.
Celebrities are known to splash the cash, with Kim Kardashian posting her request online.
She said: "This pregnancy, I would love a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker, like the ones I've worn before to the Art + Film Gala. Too much? LOL!"
She was later spotted with the choker.
