COPS ordered "kebabs all round" to celebrate the death of Manchester gangster Paul Massey, it can be revealed today.
The gangland figure was executed by a hitman nicknamed The Iceman who fired 18 rounds from an Uzi machine gun to take him out in July 2015.
Dad-of-five Massey - a notorious "Mr Big" crime figure in Salford - tried to dive for cover behind bins before he was gunned down in a long-running gang feud.
Now it can be revealed that cops celebrated his death with a "kebab dinner" - after years of dealing with warring gangs in the area.
Massey's daughter Kelly, 37, says ex-cop Helen Hignett revealed the celebration in a book on her mobster dad called A Salford Heart.
Kelly told Sun Online: “We have a retired police officer tribute in the book saying the night dad was killed it was kebabs all round.
“How sick. She was a serving officer at time dad was murdered and that was what she said in her tribute in the book.”
Massey was blasted to death aged 55 outside his home in Salford, Gtr Manchester, in July 2015.
Hitman Mark Fellows, 38, pumped 18 rounds into the crime boss and was caged for life in January.
But cops across the area were allegedly over the moon at the news.
Retired officer Ms Hignett tells in the book: "When the news broke of his murder, to say some officers were elated is an understatement.
"It was kebabs all round to celebrate.
"They had done us favour was the police view. Sad but true."

Kelly also revealed there are two other books in the pipeline; one a tribute book with tales from people who knew her dad and the second a biography.
She also told how the family won't even know the full contents of the first book until it's published.
Kelly said the book will include stories from gangster Paul Ferris and photographer Brian Anderson as well as a number of other.
She added: "They all have stories of the memories with dad so I won’t even know what it says until it's all done and ready to be published."
