SICK paedos are using live streaming app Periscope to groom vulnerable children online.

Owned by social media giant Twitter, the mobile app has 10 million users and has a minimum age restriction of 13.

But a video shown to the Sunday Express shows a girl aged around seven or eight being exploited by a depraved gang of sexual predators.

The disturbing clip shows the little girl interacting with the older users while her mother sits close by.

Shaun Stockdale, 34, from Hull, who noticed the chilling footage, spoke to the news outlet about the horrific abuse the girl suffered.

He said: “It became clear pretty soon that these were not children her own age, they were grown men – paedophiles – exploiting her for their own gratification.

“What seems to happen is that one will join the live stream and start inviting others until there is a big group.

“They then band together to manipulate the child, like one will say ‘you’re too shy’ and another will agree until he or she does what they ask.”

Despite the alarming footage, Periscope’s guidelines claim it has a “zero tolerance” towards child exploitation.

The National Crime Agency confirmed it is aware that paedophiles are using live streaming apps to target vulnerable youngsters.

They said: “Anyone who is concerned that a young person is being sexually abused or exploited online, or encounters images of child sexual abuse, should report this via the CEOP safety centre.”
