AN ELDERLY pedestrian was knocked down and killed by a bus in a transport depot yesterday afternoon.
Police and paramedics rushed to the Waterfront bus station in Chatham, Kent, following reports that a woman had been knocked down.
Sadly nothing could be done to save the OAP and she was certified dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Kent Police today appealed for any witnesses to the tragedy to contact them urgently.
They said: "The incident happened at the Waterfront bus station, at around 2.15pm.
"Police and ambulance crews attended and the victim, an elderly woman, was declared deceased at the scene.

"Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries and are also urging witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to contact them."
Meanwhile, in Weybridge, Surrey, police were also appealing for witnesses to contact them if they saw an incident in which an elderly woman pedestrian was knocked down and badly injured at teatime yesterday.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a collision between an Audi Q5 and a pedestrian in Weybridge.
"The collision occurred on the slip road off Monument Green outside the Ship Hotel at around 5.55pm.
