A MISSED penalty could not stop Alexis Sanchez from claiming the star man award as Arsenal blitzed Hull City 4-1 on Saturday.

The Chilean striker opened the scoring in fortuitous circumstances - deflecting Alex Iwobi’s shot into the net.

And that ‘assist’ but the youngster helped him to cap off a fine performance by finishing with a 8/10 mark.

The Nigerian forward was in sensational form for the Gunners, but there was no doubting that Sanchez was the right-choice as the star performer.

Although he failed to convert from the spot moments before the break, he followed Theo Walcott’s second by adding a third on 83 minutes, just seconds after Robert Snodgrass had pulled one back for the hosts.
