A HEADTEACHER was tragically found dead in a park near his home, an inquest has heard.
The body of Benjamin Sulzbacher, 48, was found at Philips Park by a friend of over 20 years after being reported missing by his family.
The married dad-of-eight - who was previously a school principal at Manchester Mesivta School - was tragically found on Wednesday, September 27 this year.
Rochdale Coroner's Court heard he had been admitted to the Priory "after having suicidal thoughts."
He was there for "two to three weeks" and was released just days before his death, Police Coroner's Officer Kathy Skelton told the court.
Ms Skelton said: "He left the family home on September 27, at 11am. His son reported him missing at 1.15pm and a search was commenced."
She said his body was discovered by the friend later that day.
The inquest heard there were no suspicious circumstances.
Paying tribute to the headteacher, foundation governor at the school, Tim Dempsey told the JC: “His swift action at the beginning of lockdown saw the school move online almost seamlessly, and he worked hard to maintain pastoral care during that period.”
The Priory confirmed Mr Sulzbacher had been an inpatient at their Altrincham hospital.
