AN urgent evacuation of a town was sparked after a man broke into a police station and attacked a cop before being tasered.
Emergency teams then cordoned off Oldham town centre while they searched a "suspicious" car - with people ordered to avoid the area.

The man broke into the grounds of Oldham Police Station in Greater Manchester shortly before 10pm on Tuesday as nearby buildings were evacuated.
He was arrested by cops who used a taser on him after he assaulted an officer.
The suspected has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, assault of a police officer and being found on enclosed premises.
A number of roads remain closed as specialist teams examine a "suspicious" car.
Greater Manchester Police say the vehicle is believed to have belonged to the man.
A spokesman told Manchester Evening News: "Just before 10pm tonight (January 4), a male gained entry to the grounds of Oldham Police Station.

"The male was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, assault of a police officer and being found on enclosed premises. During the arrest the male was tasered.
"A vehicle found nearby is believed to belong to the man.
"A precautionary cordon is in place while the contents of the vehicle are examined by specialist GMP officers.
"A number of road closures are in place and some premises have been evacuated."
