DEVOTED Gary Sanders was so upset when his greyhound Monty died he got a tattoo of him — inked with his ashes.
The dad-of-three, 56, felt sad when 11-year-old Monty passed away in February.
He got Monty’s cremated remains, baked them in the oven and ground them to dust with his wife’s pestle and mortar.
Then he got tattooist John Tilt to create a 2in image of his pet on his left wrist.
Gary - who had never had a tattoo before - then paid £40 for a 2in image of Monty on the inside of his left wrist.
Dad-of-three Gary, 56, of Stourbridge, West Mids, was so delighted with the result he had the design repeated on his right wrist.
He said: “Monty was always at my side. I had to keep him with me.”
Tattoist John Tilt, of Body Art Studios in Stourbridge, inked on the tribute.
He said: “It was a bit troublesome to do and it is a very rare request.

“The ashes do enter the body so you have to make sure everything’s been properly sterilised.
“But Gary was very happy with the result.”
