A UNIQUE documentary is promising to give an insight into the chilling life of British gangs.

Inside the Gang: Young Blood is due to air on Channel Five on Monday.

Scenes from the trailer show masked gang members brandishing guns and knives.

Other shots show drugs including cocaine.

One female member, whose face is covered, says: "We've got ourselves into this, so we either die or we make it."

Another says "it's either kill or be killed".

The voice-over in the 30-second trailer states the documentary steps "into a world beyond the headlines".

Little Boy Blue, which is currently airing on ITV, explores the death of 11-year-old Rhys Jones who was shot dead as he walked him from football practice in Liverpool in 2007.

Sean Mercer, a member of the Croxteth Crew gang, was charged with murder with the then 18-year-old sentenced to life behind bars with a minimum of 22 years.

Fellow gang members, including James Yates, Nathan Quinn, Melvin Coy, Dean Kelly and Gary Kays were also convicted of assisting an offender.

As Rhys lay dying Yates helped Mercer dispose of his bike, clothes and the gun he had provided him with just before the shooting.
