A ONE-bed studio flat in London is on the market for £1,625 a month - with the toilet inches from the bed.

The cramped bedsit in cool Camden is being advertised on Rightmove for the eye-watering sum.

The pad is described by estate agents as an "impressive studio flat" with "high specification fixtures and fittings".

But the advert neglects to mention that the bed has been crammed into the bathroom, next to the toilet sink and shower.

It states: "This is a stunning studio flat boasting high-specification fixtures and fittings, high ceilings and newly refurbished interiors that are of the highest standard.

"Situated moments from the amenities of Camden Road and Camden High Street.

"Georgiana Street is close to the trendy markets and boutiques of the local area, while the green open space of Regent's Park is nearby.

House prices in London remain sky high and far more expensive than the rest of the UK.

But the capital saw a drop in prices by an average of 0.4 percent over the year to September, according to the Land Registry and Office for National Statistics' UK House Price Index.

Property portal Zoopla reckons the market will drop by another 2 per cent next year if interest rates rise as expected.

They reckon it will make affording a mortgage even harder, slowing down the market in turn.

But property portal Rightmove believes London house prices have actually plateaued in the second half of 2019 and feels that a small 1 per cent rise is on the horizon.

Mike Scott, property expert at Yopa, added: "The south and east of England will probably continue to do worse than the rest of the country, as prices there have become overheated in recent years, and some regions in and around London could still have further to fall."
