But many TikTok users just can’t seem to get their head around one couple’s stance.
Marley, 19, and Gideon, 33, are swingers and use TikTok to share details about their unique relationship.
But many are completely shocked by their relationship and can’t understand how they cope with jealousy.
The couple took to TikTok to answer ‘questions we get asked about being swingers’.
A common question the couple get asked is ‘How can you say you love each other?’ to which the couple respond with “Sex with others doesn’t diminish our feelings.”
Another question they always get asked is ‘What about STDs/pregnancy?’, to which they confirmed that they “Protect ourselves like any single person would.”
They also always get asked ‘How do you not get jealous?’, to which the couple said “We do but we talk it through in a healthy way.”

They explained: “‘We’re not asking you to be like us, just asking you to understand that this is who we are.
“Normalise other types of relationships.
“We’re happy, in love and enjoy swinging.
“It’s no different than dating single people as a single person.
“You just do it together with your partner.
“It’s fun.
“It’s not something everyone will get or want to do.”
Marley said: “I just make everything fun ok.”

One TikTok user asked the couple “What’s it like?” to which they responded: “Honestly nothing has ever compared to this or made me as happy as I am with the love of my life.”
However, not everyone could understand the couples’ relationship and people were quick to comment.

One person said: “So what’s going to happen when one person wants to stop swinging but the other doesn’t?”.
Another added: “The risk of STDs/STIs is much higher having this lifestyle no thanks.”
A third commented: “Please do not try this unless you want to be miserable” to which the couple responded “Well we’ve done it. Been doing it and we’re happy…but yeah it’s not something everyone will enjoy.”
One TikTok user asked: “Why be in a relationship if you are just out with other people?” to which the couple said “We are out together with other couples.”
Another user commented: “Why is everyone so bitter in the comments? Let them do what makes them happy and move on with your life.”
